One of the most important decisions you need to make when installing a fireplace is choosing the type and style of mantel. This can be a tad overwhelming as there is such a range of materials and styles available these days. A beautiful mantel will always contribute towards the overall look and feel of a room so it is important to get it right. Your choice will of course depend on the type of property you own and how much money you want to invest in adding a fireplace your home. Naturally if you have plenty of cash to spend a custom designed fireplace mantel is always going to be the best option especially if you want a fireplace mantel specifically to enhance the look of the decor in your room. Some of the most spectacular country house fireplaces are made of stone or marble. These not only have a timeless appearance that can add both charm and elegance to any room but they are built from a material that is durable and long lasting. A well-built stone fireplace requires less maintenance and creates a classic and commanding presence which immediately commands attention, making it the focal point of any room.
One of the obvious reasons is that there is no need to clean a fireplace when an electric fireplace insert is used. After all, there is no burning wood and there are no ashes or embers. Of course, in addition to the cleaning required for a traditional fireplace there is also a need for purchasing firewood and other items. Of course, with an electric fireplace insert there is no need to shell out money for these additional, ancillary items. As such, electric fireplace inserts can prove to be very cost effective. So, there is no reason to ignore the value of electric fireplace inserts if you already own a traditional fireplace.
Isn’t it funny how small things like that can take you back to your childhood when it was much simpler times? The thing is that wasn’t the only fireplace in the house. My father loved them and it grew on me too. We had a brick fireplace in the living room. The wall was brick and the fireplace matched. The other walls were wood and I could sit in that room for hours just looking out the window or reading a book. It was like the fireplace made all the difference in the world. A room without a fireplace was boring. A room with a fireplace came to life and invited you into it. Hot cocoa and picture puzzles are memories associated with the fireplace in the living room. But, we’ve kind of grown up a bit in our design of the fireplace. The other day, I helped a friend decide on a pyramid shaped fireplace. It sits on a base that is about a foot high and three feet wide by three feet long. The pyramid has four sides so it will sit square on the base. That’s a nice design.
People actually consider buying a screen a good investment because it must be one of the essential parts of the house. Some screen designs include brass, gold and floral designs, classic and modern designs as well as copper finish and scroll designs. It is recommended to see the different kinds of designs available in the market before choosing what you want because you may need to ensure that the design you choose suits your personal preference and perfect for your home. One of the benefits of a fireplace screen is it hides the woods and the ashes inside the fireplace. You do not have to worry about the measurement of your fireplace because screen for the fireplace is available in different shapes and sizes.
