Shocking image of LEGO’s Executives

By | July 9, 2013

why_doesnt_lego_have_more_female_minifigsI’ve been a vocal supporter of LEGO Friends in the blogosphere, adding comments on the need for a girls line wherever I found critics. I even posed with one at the unveiling at Toyfair. I think its about time LEGO stops ignoring 50% of the kid population.

In addition to this line I’d like to see kids given a range of choices. I’d like to see more gender neutral choices and more female minifigs incorporated into their sets.

With a management team of this makeup, it is an especially uphill battle. Working on the inside of toy companies I’ve witnessed how even the best intentioned male leaders overlook the needs of girls, or become paralyzed from fear of doing it wrong. LEGO, hire female executives!!!!

Please comment below if you agree.

(PS I am looking for a job…)

If you would like to help make a difference, sign this petition to encourage LEGO to add an awesome female career minifig line:

Great article! I will sign this for sure. Coming from a an all male run Women’s clothing company I completely understand, luckily, enough waves were created and change was finally made, a new female CEO as of this month! Keep up the good work and keep fighting!

Is it possible that there are no females in Denmark?!

Great post! In addition to the lack of female characters, let’s not get into the complete lack of skin tone diversity in their Duplo, Super Hero and other product lines…
